LaPiS: Eye Candy

I honestly think that presentation is such an important part of the total “gastronomic experience”.  What we perceive to be pleasant visually (especially where food is concerned) generally creates an expectation of “yumminess” even before we actually taste the dish before us.

Though many also believe that the ultimate proof of the pudding (or scallops, in this case 😉 ) is in the eating, being served “eye candy” such as this didn’t hurt one bit!

This was the main dish I ordered – Pan-Seared Scallops in Chili Vinaigrette Sauce – when we celebrated eldest son’s decade birthday recently at Trader Vic’s, Ritz Carlton in Bahrain.

And yes, it tasted as good as it looked! Yummy indeed! 😎

  3. To think i really posted candies today! lol. This certainly is a gastronomic treat, visually and hopefully the palate agrees! (I bet that costs much!) Enjoy your week!

Yup, it was G-O-O-D, G! I’m willing to endure the “slow service” of the resto if only to have this again… Don’t know about the price, though, since it was hubby who foot the bill – hahaha! 😉

Hon, your order was great… but I don’t think I will eat in Trader Vic’s in a really long while… my order failed to satisfy my expectations. The Pina Colada was great though!

  12. Pangalang pangalan pa lang, “ear candy” na Pan-Seared Scallops in Chili Vinaigrette Sauce! Specially on the looks department, this dish doesn’t disappoint. And I’ll take your word for it…that it tastes as good as it looks.
